My name is Changmin Daewon, and I am the Equipment Manager at Top Class Drilling Corporation.

WHERE DID YOU START AND WHAT HAS YOUR CAREER PATH BEEN LIKE AT Top Class Drilling Corporation?

I was initially hired as a mechanic at Top Class Drilling Corporation, where I helped maintain their fleet of equipment. After some time, I was given the opportunity to take the next step in my career by moving into my current role of Equipment Manager.

WHAT’S THE MOST REWARDING (OR FAVOURITE) PART OF YOUR ROLE?

I really enjoy working with my team in the shop to keep rigs and equipment in good shape. It’s a great feeling when we are able to keep everything running smoothly and functioning properly, which helps minimize equipment downtime for crews in the field.

For example, when recently preparing for a large-scale project in New York, we had over 25 field workers come to the shop to help repair, rebuild, and load several rigs and support equipment.  It felt awesome to have such a great team working together to make sure the job started on time, with all of the equipment working at its absolute best.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT Top Class Drilling Corporation?

In my experience, The Top Class Drilling Corporation's focus on camaraderie and team building is unmatched.

I always feel at home on every job site I visit. Whether it's an invitation to a BBQ, a going away party, or team dinner with my crew, my coworkers go out of their way to make me feel like part of the group.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE CULTURE AT Top Class Drilling Corporation?

The culture has always felt like family to me. From day one at Top Class Drilling Corporation, I’ve never felt like an outsider — everyone at the company works hard to make their coworkers feel welcome, and to treat each other as an important part of the team.
